Are 'we buy any' caravan and motorhome companies worth it?
They are worth it when a quick, certain sale matters more than the price: they pay a trade price, collect the caravan or motorhome, and can settle outstanding finance. The figure you get online is not final, because the price is confirmed or changed when someone inspects the vehicle.
There is no single company behind the phrase. Several firms use a "we buy" name, and dealers offer the same service. None of the ones below publishes its margin, so you can't tell from their sites how far below a private sale an offer will be.
What five of them say
| Company | Buys | What its site says |
|---|---|---|
| National Caravan Buyer | Caravans | Buys any caravan up to £50,000 at a trade price. Collects from home, a site or storage in England, Wales or Scotland. |
| We Buy Any Leisure Vehicle | Caravans | Inspects the caravan to confirm the valuation. Free collection from mainland UK. No broker or auction fees. |
| The National Caravan Buyer | Caravans | Free valuation, nationwide collection, payment on the day. |
| We Buy Any Motorcaravan | Motorhomes | Price adjustments may be needed depending on what the inspection finds. Pays finance directly to the lender. Pays by bank transfer after the inspection and asks you to check the money has arrived before it leaves. |
| We Buy Tourers | Caravans and motorhomes | Based in North Wales, collects from mainland UK. Pays by instant transfer on inspection or, in some cases, cash. Handles outstanding finance. |
Read from each company's own site on 29 September 2026. We have not used any of them, and a listing here is not a recommendation.
Before you accept
- Get more than one figure. Valuations are free, so ask two or three companies and a dealer.
- Ask what the inspection can take off. Damp, missing service history and damage are the usual reasons an online figure changes. Tell them about known faults up front so the figure you compare is closer to the final one.
- Have the paperwork ready. We Buy Any Motorcaravan asks for the V5C, the service history and, ideally, a habitation document. For a motorhome or campervan, a buying company counts as the motor trade at DVLA: it gets the whole log book and you destroy the yellow section.
- Don't let it go before the money arrives. Check your own banking app, not their screen.
- Never pay them. A company that buys caravans pays you. The Caravan and Motorhome Club warns about middlemen who ask sellers for a fee to put them in touch with a "perfect buyer" who doesn't exist.
Compared with the other routes
A buying company is the quickest way out and pays a trade price. A broker sells to a private buyer for you and charges only on a sale: Motorhome Pig's scale starts at £1,500. Advertising it yourself costs from nothing to £59.99 on the sites compared on the caravan, motorhome and campervan pages, and takes the most time. The part-exchange guide shows how to put the offers side by side.
